Eligibility & Rules

By entering the contest, participants hereby agree to be bound by, and are deemed to have read and understood the following guidelines.

General Guidelines:

  • This contest is open only for Indian Citizens, 18 years or above in age as on 8th September, 2022
  • Submissions of entries for poster design contest will commence from 8th September, 2022
  • Entries will close on the 30th September, 2022
  • Entries are open for poster design contest for only 15 days (Deadline extended by 7 days)
  • All entries for the poster design must be submitted online on the contest page only. In case submitted through any other medium or mode will not be entertained nor considered for evaluation
  • The typography in the poster design can be made in any one of the 22 official Indian languages with transcript (in verbatim) in Hindi or English
  • The content of the poster design should be suitable for universal viewing and must not contain any provocative, objectionable or inappropriate content, since the film poster is intended for showcasing to all age groups in India
  • The poster design should strictly follow the theme -The One and Only Ray!
  • Entries submitted outside the contest theme shall be disqualified

Who is eligible for participation?

  • A person who identifies as a creative artist with or without a formal training in the art forms such as graphic design, illustration, painting, sketching, drawing, digital art while making use of industry standard mediums and tools are eligible to participate
  • Participants shall make sure that his or her personal profile is accurate and updated since NFDC will be using this for further communication. This includes details, such as name, photo, ID Proof, phone number and email address. Entries with incomplete profiles will not be entertained nor considered
  • The top 75 entries, which are declared as winner, runner up and recipients of Certificate of Appreciation will suo moto become intellectual property of NFDC and exercising any right over the poster design after acceptance of the prize shall be nullified
  • The prize-winning poster designs will be used by NFDC for souvenir as giveaway and display purposes and also for any other use as may be deemed appropriate for the initiative by NFDC
  • The submission should be an original work and no plagiarism will be entertained or considered for evaluation. The participant shall indemnify NFDC for any issue arising out of plagiarism and the participant concerned shall be personally liable for the same
  • Anyone found infringing on others' copyright would be disqualified from the contest. NFDC does not bear any responsibility for copyright violations or infringements of intellectual property carried out by the participants
  • Any politically inclined or offensive content, violation of community standards, will not be entertained and will be treated as an offense under Cyber Law
  • NFDC reserves the right to extension, cancel or amend all or any part of the contest and or the Terms & Conditions of Evaluation Criteria. However, any changes to the Terms & Conditions, Evaluation Criteria, or cancellation of the contest will be posted on the website. Participants are responsible to keep themselves informed as to any changes in the Terms & Conditions and Evaluation Criteria stated for this contest
  • The participant(s) represent(s) and warrant(s) that he or she will comply with all the applicable Indian laws. The participant(s) shall not disclose and or use any information, if doing so is in violation of any obligation against confidentiality
  • By registering for participation in the contest, the participant(s) warrant that:
    1. They have complied with all the Terms and Conditions
    2. Their entry does not infringe any Intellectual Property Rights of any third party
    3. Any current employer and or learning institution that the participant is employed by or enrolled with will have no claim on the poster design developed and submitted by the contestant
  • NFDC reserves the right to reject any entry of the participant without assigning any reason
  • NFDC accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss or injury of any kind suffered by any participants in entering the contest, including as a result of any participant winning or not winning any prize
  • NFDC will not be held responsible, if the participants are not able to upload their entries on the contest page before the last date & time of submission for any reason whatsoever
  • Entries must be made by or before the closing date and time and in the manner set out in the contest’s Terms and Conditions. Failure to do so, will result in disqualification
  • Multiple submissions of entries by the same participant will not be considered and the first entry per participant received would be considered
  • The selected top entries will be awarded:
    1. First Prize (₹ 1,00,000)
    2. First Runner Up (₹ 75,000)
    3. Second Runner Up (₹ 50,000)
    4. Certificate of Appreciation for 72 selected participants (No cash prize)
  • The contestant shall be responsible for any and all taxes payable on the prize money received
  • In the event if any of the contestants choose not to receive the prize money, the prize money shall be forfeited and dealt by NFDC at their discretion
  • The winning entries will be uploaded on the contest platform for which the date will be informed separately
  • The panel of jury, who evaluates the contest, will be experts of the arts, illustration and storytelling with wide experience in creativity
  • The results of the contest will be declared on contest website
  • The courts of Mumbai alone shall have exclusive jurisdiction to deal with and decide any dispute whatsoever arising out of this contest
  • Employees of NFDC, and their immediate family members including spouse, children, parents and parents-in-law are not eligible to participate in this contest

Technical Details:

  • Participants are mandated to provide accurate and correct information on the entry form and upon selection as winner, 1st runner up, 2nd runner up and recipients of Certificate of Appreciation, they will have to submit a valid Govt. issued identity proof such as an Aadhar Card, valid Passport, Driver’s License, Election Commission ID card, Photo Identity cards issued by Govt. recognized educational institutions (for students only), ration card etc
  • Entry Guidelines: Technical requirements
    • All artwork submission will be online only
    • The entry submission will be digital only
    • The artwork creative rendition must be as per the below specifications:
      1. Format: JPG 300 DPI (RGB)
      2. Print Size: Width 70 cm x Height 100 cm (Portrait)
      3. File Size: Maximum 10 MB
    • For hand drawn illustrations or paintings, the participant must digitize the creation through photography or scanning before submission
    • Applicants are advised to use licensed authentic digital software for designing of the artwork. Contest organizers or affiliated entities shall not be responsible for the work originating from fraudulent software and applications. Such submissions shall be disqualified
    • It is compulsory for shortlisted applicants (Winners, 1st Runner Up, 2nd Runner Up and recipients of Certificate of Appreciation) to submit through email (contest@nfdcindia.com) High Resolution (open) files for adaption purposes

Evaluation Criteria:

  • The panel of jury will assess all the qualified entries received for award
  • Entries will be judged on the basis of elements of creativity, originality, composition, simplicity, merit and visual impact with the theme: The One and Only Ray!
  • The decision of the panel of jury will be final and binding on all the contestants and no clarifications in this regard will be issued to any participants for any of their decisions
  • NFDC will have all Intellectual Property Rights over the winning entries for usage in a way felt appropriate by it. Contest winners will have no right or claim on the submitted entries once the winners are declared
  • In case of any dispute arising out of the contest entries winners, NFDC decision will be final and binding on the contestants and no correspondence will be entertained
  • Entries shall be evaluated for deciding about the prize(s) by the jury based on the quality and appropriateness to the theme. The jury reserves its right to rationalize the prize(s), in case the entries do not conform to the quality and appropriateness to the theme. The decision with regard to this will be final and binding on the contestants
